Not just fireworks but a car show, craft show, parade and live music highlight the Summerfest celebration in this small town 30 minutes from Kalamazoo.

Many municipalities, cities, towns, villages, hamlets, burgs, boroughs and whistle stops had their 4th of July celebrations on Wednesday the 4th or the weekend before. Lawton has saved the festivities for a day-long Summerfest celebration on July 7.

Main street will be shut down for all Lawton Summerfest activities including:

  • Car show 10-3
  • Craft show 10-3
  • Parade 5
  • Live music with The Bronk Brothers 7:30
  • Fireworks 10:30

The public is invited, there is no admission fee for any of the activities. There will also be a dunk tank with  "a business owner, a coach, a police chief, teacher, pastor, lunch lady or a local," plus face painting for the kids and a horseshoe tournament.

The evening culminates with live music and a street dance at 7:30 followed by fireworks. Come on out and celebrate small town America and one last 4th of July hurrah at Lawton Summerfest.
