Over 1,000 people participated in the Kalamazoo Mud Run on June 13.

There was more to the day than just getting dirty, as proceeds from the annual event are used to drill wells and provide clean water for natives and refugees in Uganda. Pastor Mwesige Solomon thanked the runners before the start of the race.

You don't understand how fortunate you are. You turn the faucet and water comes out at whatever temperature you like. There are people that walk 4 miles for one bucket of water. You don't know what this means to us.

MLive wrote a nice article on the race and the cause, and I brought home a great trophy for my efforts.
