The Kalamazoo Valley Comm. College Lady Cougars Basketball team cruised to their sixth consecutive MCCAA Western Conference Championship, Monday night with a 98-62 blowout of Lansing Comm. College.After wrapping up the regular season with Glen Oaks tonight, the Lady Cougars will travel to east to play Eastern Conference Champion Macomb Comm. College. on Saturday. Next week will see KVCC play in the NJCCAA tournament at St. Clair Country.

As long as they keep winning, they will end up playing in the Division II National Tournament in Arkansas in late March.

“I feel like we have the real potential to continue our run,” says KVCC coach Maureen Brown said. “We’re currently number six in the country and can definitely push the top teams.”

Another accomplishment this season was Ka-Leah Ryan becoming only the third player in KVCC history to score her 1,000th point as a Cougar.
