John Michael Montgomery Postpones Concerts Due to Surgery

John Michael Montgomery was planning to rock it out with his fans this weekend, but as it turns out, he’s been unfortunately sidelined due to surgery.

“Hi all, As you may of heard I went into the hospital for some surgery that is going to require me to stay home this weekend January 12/13,” he informed fans on Facebook. “I’m recovering well and ready to be back on the road January 19 and 20. The fine folks at the Tarheel Opry House in Jacksonville, NC are going to bring us back January 27th so hold on to those tickets and see you in just 2 short weeks.”

The immediate date impacted, that he referenced, is Saturday night, Jan. 13, at the Tarheel Opry House in Jacksonville, North Carolina. But, as Montgomery noted, the show has been moved to Jan. 27.

Montgomery rose to fame in the early 1990s, racking up a roster of notable hits such as “Life’s A Dance,” “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident),”I Swear,” “If You’ve Got Love,” “I Love The Way You Love Me,” and “I Can Love You Like That.” Before embarking on a solo career, he performed with his brother Eddie Montgomery from the duo Montgomery Gentry. His 18-year-old son, Walker Montgomery, is also trying his hand at the family business, having released a debut single this month.
