Michigan’s Iconic ‘Hell’ Is For Sale

Established 14 years ago, Hell, Michigan is a tourist hot spot located about 15 miles northwest of Ann Arbor.While the townsite of Hell grew up around a sawmill, gristmill, distillery and tavern, the touristy attractions in town only became popular in the last 20 years.  Of those historic bulidings, all four were operated by George Reeves, who moved to the area in the 1830s. Reeves was asked what he thought the town he helped settle should be called and replied, "I don't care, you can name it Hell for all I care." The name became official on October 13, 1841.

You don't have to sell your soul to the devil to get a good deal in Michigan's real estate market. It's for sale for $900,000.  Last year the owner listed it for $1.3 million.  With no buyers, he slashed the price. If 900 THOUSAND DOLLARS is out of your price range, you can be mayor for a day for only 100 bucks.

There is also a T-shirt for sale that reads "Drinking beer in Hell is Safer then water in Flint".
