The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has extended a Heat Advisory into Monday for much of lower Michigan. The advisory is in effect from noon to 6:00pm, excluding the border counties which have it in effect until 8:00pm. Temperatures again will soar into the low to mid 90s and heat indices could peak in the 100 to 105 range. Even the morning commute will be muggy Monday across the region as lows are only dropping to a humid 77 degrees with a heat index still in the 80s likely overnight.

Counties included in the extended advisory are Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Eaton, Jackson, Hillsdale, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren counties.

If you are outdoors during the advisory period, it is advised to stay extra hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade or indoors. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing.
