Chris Young, Eric Paslay and Clare Dunn rocked Kalamazoo's Miller Auditorium.

This was one of those shows that featured the hits. Chris Young seems to be one of those artists that you may be able to name 2 or 3 of his songs, but if I played you 5 more you would recognize every single one of them. The crowd knew the songs and sang along all night long at Western Michigan University's Miller Auditorium in Kalamazoo.

New girl Clare Dunn opened the show. Honestly I was in traffic on Stadium Drive for most of her set, but caught her single "Move On" and was glad I didn't miss her closer: Led Zeppelin's "Rock & Roll." Indeed, Clare did rock, and looks to be a formidable guitar player and not just a pretty face.

Following her 25 minute set, the stagehands went to work setting things up for Eric Paslay. I'm sure you know "Song About A Girl" and "Friday Night," but did you know Eric wrote "Barefoot Blue Jean Night?" He shared the excitement of getting a #1 song when Jake Owen took it to the top of the charts. A thirteen year overnight success story, Eric also delivered a heartfelt rendition of "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," a song written with his friend Will Hoge and a radio hit for Eli Young Band.

No doubt the night belonged to Chris Young.  He and his 6-piece band took the stage and made the bold move of opening with a brand new song called "Underdogs." It worked for him as he seemed very confident and comfortable. Chris would do 3 more songs from his fifth album that had been released just the day before the concert including the title track "I'm Comin' Over."

Sometimes playing an acoustic guitar, Chris spent his time moving between 3 microphones set at the edge of the stage. The Miller Auditorium crowd sang along as Chris played a love song for the couples ("Who I Am With You") and a love song about tequila for the rest of us ("Aw Naw"). The band sounded terrific and Chris Young was in great voice and high spirits the entire night. Take a look at the photos and set list and feel free to add your thoughts in the comments below.
