The legendary Elton John has a pair or tribute albums that will be released on April 6, Revamp and Restoration, with one of the discs highlighting interpretations of his songs by country’s biggest acts. Fans can get a taste of this with the reveal of Chris Stapleton‘s contribution to the project, a passionate cover of John’s 2001 Grammy-nominated “I Want Love.”

Stapleton takes the moody song and makes it his own, adding soaring vocals and anchoring growls, plus his inimitable, personal soul.

“At any stage of life you can pick out a moment and a place in time, things that were going on and there’s an Elton John song playing somewhere in the background,” Stapleton explained in a release. “He’s always going to be present in every musician’s mind and mine as well because his music reaches that far.”

Restoration is the country-related disc, which John explains is the passion project of his longtime songwriting collaborator, Bernie Taupin, who curated it as only a true country music fan could. It’s packed with interpretations by a variety of both classic artists and bright newcomers including Stapleton: Dierks Bentley, Rosanne Cash and Emmylou Harris, Miley Cyrus, Vince Gill and Don Henley, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Brothers Osborne, Rhonda Vincent and Dolly Parton, and Lee Ann Womack.

The set’s Revival is a pop- and rock-oriented disc, and a song from Demi Lovato and Q-Tip—”Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart”—was released the same day as Stapleton’s.

Days after the album’s release, several musicians will pay tribute to the singer during a two-hour television special. Elton John: I’m Still Standing — A Grammy Salute will air on April 10 at 9PM, ET/PT on CBS.  Keith Urban, Lambert, Morris and Little Big Town are all taking part in that special.
