Students at Linden Grove Middle School learned how to cook fried rice from Chef Jet of the Food Network when he visited Kalamazoo.

School lunches have changed since we were kids. Former First Lady Michelle Obama's initiatives and companies like Chartwells have made healthy eating a priority for today's students. That doesn't mean it is not exciting.

Kalamazoo Public Schools and Chartwells invited the Food Channel's Jet Tilia to Linden Grove Middle School to cook for students, pass out autographed chef hats and give them a lesson in preparing Asian cuisine for themselves at home. MLive was there to capture video of the preparations, feast and festivities.
