Carrie Underwood‘s doctors say she’s nearly 100 percent recovered from injuries sustained in a fall at her house last November. She’s even found a silver lining.

Underwood is “doing pretty darn good these days,” she writes in a letter to fans at her website. “My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90 percent there and the docs say that last 10 percent will come in time.” The singer broke her wrist during a fall at her house on Nov. 10 and had surgery a few days later. Initial reports indicated some cuts and abrasions, but she wouldn’t reveal the full extent until January. Forty to 50 stitches were required to close wounds on her face. The latest letter to fans offered an update there, too:

“And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while.”

In a January letter to fans, Underwood revealed that she might not look like she usually does when she begins doing television once again, but photos shared to social media in recent weeks and months show no major differences, if any at all. The most recent came last week, when she shared a photo of herself rehearsing with her band. She also shared an in-studio photo that left fans buzzing about the potential for new music. On Monday she revealed she would be releasing a new song this week, and in Tuesday’s letter, she shared that it’s a song called “Cry Pretty” that she co-wrote.

“It’s emotional. It’s real. And it ROCKS!” Underwood says of a song set to be available at 6AM ET on April 11.

Of the “forced relaxation,” Underwood says it’s been a silver lining as she got to spend extra time with her husband Mike Fisher and their little boy Isaiah. “Sometimes I think things happen in order to make us slow down,” she writes before turning to support for Fisher’s Nashville Predators as they try to make their way back to the Stanley Cup Finals.
