Events at Henderson castle, W.K. Kellogg Manor House and downtown Kalamazoo earn the city a top 10 spot on the list of best places to spend Thanksgiving in Michigan.

Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house...in Kalamazoo. Tripping.com has rated the best cities in the state for turkey day and the Mall City comes in at #9. Here's what they had to say:

Thanksgiving gets off to an early start in Kalamazoo with the Annual WMU Turkey Trot 5K, which is scheduled a few days before the holiday. Treat yourself to a grand turkey dinner at the Henderson Castle, which features a seven-course menu in a stunning Victorian-themed dining room. On Black Friday, Kalamazoo hosts a community tree lighting. Thanksgiving weekend brings a variety of events, including the Antique Toy Show at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center and the Holiday Walk and Market at the W.K. Kellogg Manor House.
