Battle Creek Vietnam Era Airmen Interred With Honors At Arlington National Cemetery

U.S. Air Force Col. Robert Anderson’s remains were Buried with Full honors on October 6th. Exactly 45 years after his plane crashed in North Vietnam.

It wasn’t until October of 1998 that his remains were identified.

Col. Anderson is not the first Michigan native at Arlington. Most notably, Specialist Byron Fouty of Waterford, Michigan was buried in the same casket as Staff Sgt. Alex Jimenez of Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Explained in a story from Foxnews.com,

Because some of their remains could not be identified as belonging to one or the other, the Army buried them together Tuesday with full military honors in a grave that will be marked by one stone.
