Kyle Jennings, a local boy with Nashville flare performed at the 10th Street Saloon Saturday night in Plainwell. This was my chance to catch up with a local artist, hear some stories, some great music and make a few new friends at the same time.

Jennings, 37, Born and raised in Kalamazoo, relocated to Nashville in 2002 and began making waves. On this night, Jennings played a wide range of music. Everything ranging from Merle Haggard to Bare Naked Ladies. The place was standing room only and he was very energetic and engaging with the people who were there and wanted to talk with him.

Kyle also filmed scenes for his latest video at 10TH Street Saloon. He told me "they have always been really good to me, welcomed me whenever I wanted to play and have treated me like family".  He has released two albums to date and has a new single "Jesus,  Jack Daniels and Me",which Has had nearly 100,000 views on You Tube with almost no promotion. You can see the video here or at the bottom of this story. You can also check out his web site and Facebook pages to keep track of where and what he has happening.

When I asked Kyle where he came up with the nickname "Flip" for his long time friend, Jenny Viterna, who also appears in his latest video, she shushed him real quick, and you can see that in the photo gallery above.

I did however, hear the how they had met. A mutual friend introduced them in Nashville and as they spent time together...

...Well, maybe this is better left for another story as well.

If you ever get a chance to see him live, DO IT!
